Simple Blyss

branding

Throughout my time as a virtual intern for Yohanna Law, a brand designer based in Florida, I received one-on-one mentorship and hands-on opportunities to practice social media design. Her company, Simple Blyss, offered a free Squarespace email series aimed at helping business owners affordably build their own websites. I was tasked with creating promotional graphics for Pinterest to attract users to sign up for the email series.

In approaching this project, I focused on aligning my designs with the aesthetic values of Simple Blyss, which emphasizes a clean, calming, and minimalist brand identity. To ensure cohesion, I carefully analyzed the company’s existing color palette, typography, and visual tone. I also conducted research on Pinterest to observe current trends and best-performing design styles for similar promotional content, aiming to balance visual appeal with clarity and information hierarchy.

One key design decision was to prioritize whitespace and simplicity, avoiding overly busy layouts in favor of subtle line work and muted colors that reflected the brand’s approachable, user-friendly ethos. Typography choices were made to maintain legibility while conveying a sense of warmth and professionalism. After receiving initial feedback from Yohanna, I iterated on the designs to fine-tune details like call-to-action placement and text emphasis, ensuring they were optimized for engagement on Pinterest. Ultimately, the final pins were approved and published, contributing to the promotion of the email series in a way that felt authentic to the brand.
